SLEEP AND NUTRITION

Öz

Sleep, in which we spend 3/10 of our lives, is a universal and natural need of our body. In this process many factors affect sleep and are affected by sleep. It is known that one of the most important of these is nutrition. There are so many studies that examine the relationship between sleep and nutrition, which has become increasingly popular recently. In these studies especially macronutrients, vitamins and minerals, melatonin, different food groups and diet quality associated with sleep were studied. In this review, it is aimed to examine the databases of PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, BioMed Central and national databases like TÜBITAK (Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) with a detailed literature review in order to reveal the interaction of nutrition with sleep.

UYKU VE BESLENME

Öz

Hayatımızın 3/10'unu geçirdiğimiz uyku vücudumuzun evrensel ve doğal bir ihtiyacıdır. Bu süreçte birçok faktör uykuyu etkilmekte ve uykudan etkilenebilmektedir. Bunlardan en önemlilerinden birinin beslenme olduğu bilinmektedir. Son zamanlarda giderek popüler hale gelen uyku ve beslenme arasındaki ilişkiyi inceleyen pek çok çalışma bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmalarda özellikle makrobesinler, vitamin ve mineraller, melatonin, farklı besin grupları ve uykuyla ilişkili beslenme kalitesi incelenmiştir. Bu derlemede beslenmenin uyku ile etkileşiminin ortaya konulması amacıyla PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, BioMed Central ve TÜBİTAK (Türkiye Bilimsel ve Teknik Araştırma Kurumu) gibi ulusal veri tabanlarının detaylı bir literatür taramasıyla incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır.
