Comparison of Multicultural Educational Practices: Case of Germany, America, Finland and Turkey
Abstract
Multiculturalism is a research area that maintains its importance in every period. Multicultural education, in general terms; It is a reform movement for all children to benefit equally from the educational opportunities provided, without allowing language, religion, race, gender, culture and class discrimination. It is stated that multicultural education should have a world-wide perspective. In addition, in multicultural education, it can be mentioned that different groups should preserve their own identities and that the characteristics of the dominant culture should be adopted. Within the scope of this information, the aim of this study is to examine the pre-school education programs of children living in a multicultural society and to examine the basic qualifications related to the conduct of studies in this direction on the basis of Finland, Germany, the United States and Turkey. In addition, the main basis of this article is to raise awareness and gain new experiences by showing these cultural differences with different processes under the same title. In the multicultural part, it is known that there are some measures taken by the family and the school, together with the work that people have done for their children. Multiculturalism enables individuals around the world to have different perspectives on their children. In addition to that, it is possible to carry out results-oriented studies. Many practices are put into practice in order to prevent crises that may occur within countries and to increase children's preschool interactions. Many factors consisting of basic qualifications are put into play in order to compare the perspectives of children from different societies and to expand studies in this direction. As a result, the aim of these education programs is to create a more productive and sensitive community for the development of children. Early childhood education is known to be a factor in front of values and personal gains. For this reason, the concept of multiculturalism is discussed extensively in this research.
