Listening to Children's Voices: A Methodological Review of Graduate Theses Based on the Mosaic Approach
Abstract
This study was conducted to examine graduate theses in Türkiye that adopted the Mosaic Approach as a data collection method. Within this scope, seven graduate theses conducted between 2018 and 2025, which are publicly accessible in the National Thesis Centre and methodologically collected data from children using the Mosaic Approach, were reviewed. The search was carried out using the keywords “mozaik yaklaşımı” in Turkish and “mosaic approach” in English. The descriptive research method, one of the qualitative research methods, was adopted in the study. The selected theses were examined in terms of the year of completion, research method, study group, age of the participants, city where the research was conducted, and data collection methods used within the framework of the Mosaic Approach. The data obtained were analysed through descriptive analysis, and a methodological discussion was conducted on the use of developmentally appropriate methods in research involving children.
